FingerPrint Locks Blog

Is there anything more frustrating than getting home after a hard day at work, only to find out that you have misplaced the keys to your property? You are left with the option of calling a locksmith, which isn’t cheap, or channeling your inner cat burglar to find a way into your home. The latter of those two options can actually be more frightening, as you quickly realize just how insecure you home may be. Let’s face it, if you can find a way in without any trouble, how easy will it be for a criminal that does that sort of thing for a living?

There are ways to take home keys out of the equation, however, and that is what this little site is all about. Biometric door locks are the perfect solution for those that have problems with frequently losing keys, or who would rather just not waste the time rummaging around in a purse or pocket to find the surprisingly elusive key. Instead of the traditional locking system, the biometric units allow you to access your home using nothing more than your fingerprint. As most of you are already aware, no two people have the same fingerprints, which make copying your biometric key a physical impossibility. That is, unless they are able to steal one of your fingers, but there is a good chance you will notice that has gone missing.

While fingerprint locks may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, they are now being very commonly used in both residential and commercial properties. What may come as a surprise to many is that they are actually incredibly affordable and easy to install. You won’t have to break the bank to change out the locks in your home to a biometric version, and you most certainly won’t have to hand over any type of body fluid sample to the installation guy in order to make them work.

If you are still a little unsure about the safety and efficiency of biometric door locks, which you shouldn’t be, you can also add a little bit of electronic magic into the mix. The electronic door locks that are now on the market feature a keypad that allow you to insert a secret code that will grant you access to your home once it has been punched in. You may have already seen something similar to this concept on newer cars, many of which feature keypad entry and push-button starters.

We encourage you to look at some of the great fingerprint locks featured on our site, as doing so will give you a much better idea of what you get for your money. If you are one of those people who have finally grown tired of dropping keys down drains, or handing over your hard earned money to locksmiths, you owe it to yourself to see how biometric door locks can take away that frustration. This is one cool invention that you will gladly give the finger to.

Senator Pauline Hanson has been in the press recently with a proposal for a national identity card. This idea is not the first time it has done the rounds. – during the 1980’s Hawke proposed the Australia Card, which was then followed some years later during the mid-2000’s an idea tabled by Howard of a National Identity Card.

So what makes this latest idea new? The inclusion of fingerprint biometric identity.  So what, you may ask. But, if you think about this a little deeper, it starts to raise the issue of privacy and identity fears. More specifically, questions begin to be asked around the subject of biometrics and biometric...

Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who were the very best of friends. They were so close in fact, that they decided they would each buy a house on the same street. While they were great friends, they had very different interests, which was why they went about setting up their new houses a little differently.

The first little pig loved to play games, so the first thing he did was load up his favorite room with the best computers and gaming systems money could buy. His new toys were expensive, and he didn’t have a lot of money left over, so he purchased a very old, very rusty padlock for his front door.

The second little...

Thinks about it this way, you can get a 2-legged Doberman for a lot less than one with 4 legs, but how effective is he going to be at running down intruders, when he is off balance and probably...

Gaining access to the latest technology usually means having to pay a pretty penny for the privilege. It is for that reason that many people are dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. You often hear about the benefits of owning a rental property, of which there are many, but very few people ever delve into the potential downfalls of getting into the real estate ownership game. This blog is not about to get too specific with any of the major problems, but what we are going to tackle is what to do with your locks once a tenant leaves. Sure, they may come and dutifully hand over the keys to your place once they have moved out, but can you be sure that they haven’t made a copy of them? Imagine having a vacation rental home, and then think about the number of people that get their hands on those keys over the course of a...
