When choosing a new front door for your home, there are a number of factors that go into the decision. Colour is often the first choice for many, followed by the overall design, which includes the type of lock and handle that features on the door. While some people are quite content with a pretty basic looking lock and handle, there are others that use this element of the door to show off a definite sense of style. The question then becomes whether that style becomes cramped when making the switch to fingerprint locks.
There aren’t that any people who are familiar with fingerprint locks other than those that they may have seen in the movies. Since those particular locks are usually attached to bomb blast doors at a military facility or in some stylish bulletproof glass set-up in a mysterious laboratory, it’s hard to really envision how they might look when installed in a plain old wooden door in the middle of a conservative neighborhood. What we can tell you is that fingerprint locks come in a wide variety of styles, and they look great on any type of door that you are thinking of adding them to.
What may come as a surprise is that these futuristic locks actually look just like your average lock and handle when viewed from a distance. Sure, some might question why your handle has a little blue light on it at all times, but that is just the spot where you place your finger. Many of the fingerprint locks that are now on the market come in a brushed steel type of look that is incredibly stylish indeed. They can be big, bold, and very modern looking, or they can be pretty basic in style, with no clue as to their function other than that little blue area we just mentioned.
What it all boils down to is that fingerprint locks deliver a new level of security and peace of mind, but they do not do so at the expense of your all-important sense of style. No-one is going to mock you or make fun of how your new lock looks on your door, with the complete opposite actually more likely to be the outcome. It may even turn out that your fingerprint lock becomes the talking point of your entryway, and you can bet that people will try their best to see how well it works by sticking their own finger against the lock.
If you are looking to add a touch of modern style to your doors, fingerprint locks are a fantastic way to do so. They are much more than just a pretty face, though, adding a level of security that you simply cannot get with the traditional key lock. The great news is that you really don’t have to spend a lot of money to make the upgrade happen, and you will never have to worry about losing a key ever again.
